Job Profitability Summary Report
The Job Profitability Summary Report (Reports>Jobs,Time & Mileage>) is a great report which will give you a total cost, total revenue and the profit ($ Diff.). Anyone looking to do Job Costing will find this report very helpful, that is unless you use the Inventory Adjustments function and assign it to a Job.
For whatever reason this is one transaction which has been left off of this report and will give you numbers that do not tie out to another Job Costing report P&L by Job. I am not certain of the reasoning behind this (I am sure there is one …
) and I do not think it is a bug since this has been an issue since at least 2006, but if you are a business owner which does take into account Inventory Adjustments to see total profitability on a Job keep this in mind.
Luckily the P&L by Job will give you the correct numbers, or in the case of some of our clients we were able to create a report using Crystal Reports and the ODBC connection (QBE only) which mimics this report fairly well.
