QuickBooks Printing and the QBPRINT file
Sometimes, when trying to print out of QuickBooks, strange things happen. Either you don’t get the window to select the printer settings, your settings are being saved, or if you try to go to File > Printer Setup, nothing happens. One of the easiest troubleshooting setups involves renaming the QBPRINT.QBP file. This file saves all of your printer settings, and if it gets damaged, then you can start seeing some odd behaviors. Anytime there is strange printing issues inside QuickBooks, but other applications print just fine, this is the first place to go. On Windows 7 the file is located at “C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks 2011\QBPRINT.QBP”. Simply rename this file to something different (like QBPRINT.OLD), then close and restart QuickBooks. When you open QuickBooks, it will recreate a new QBPRINT.QBP file for you, and should resolve any funny printing issues.
